The past days have been rather hectic and as often is the case – 24 hours are just not – long enough.

Kirra of course can keep up the pace = whilst yours truly = is often in decline :(

I received my brand new laptop the other day – which has a much larger screen (so I can see my bank statements)    It has Dolby home theater – virtual surround sound – Saturday night at the movies :)

Of course Kirra has her schedule lined up on the DVD scene which includes ‘Lassie’.

In fact the past week or so I have been opening my wee purse strings almost on a daily basis – no expense spared :)

Hopefully I shall  be in a position to post on a regular basis as well as pop over to read and comments on blogging friends.

Don’t go in the Water

Play time for Kirra

Even if she keeps well away from the water.

From a Distance

From a distance

How the mist cloaks the hills

A Church of Status

Church of prayers

Of folk in congregation

Whatever the weather

May bring.

DSC02525

Their attendance

Is beyond doubt

For the pews are waiting

In this God’s place.

DSC02520

Character of status

Stained of time

As windows depict

Visitors from afar.

DSC02522

Years take their toll

Not only of building

As folk no longer

The congregation

Becomes so few.

DSC02524

And yet this place

Shall exist

For its place

Is secure

A church of prayers

Even in modern times.

Are You Interested?

Are you interested in ‘Astronomy?

Would you like to help the ‘Galaxyzoo’ team classify images online?

GalaxyZoo

It is not only educational but also rewarding in knowing you are contributing to the research and you only need to go online at a time of your own choosing.  It can be for a few minutes each day or perhaps only once a week.  The choice is yours.

If you are interested go to the following site:  http://galaxyzoo.org

You will need to be on galaxy zoo 2 site as this is where your assistance will be required and after an initial test, if you are successful – you can then take part  as often as you like.

Enjoy

Cheese Scones – Anyone?

One thing I had missed whilst living on the isle was of course ‘Cheese Scones’

DSC02654

Some folk prefer plain or fruit scones, whilst I prefer cheese scones.

I could never understand why in some parts of Scotland and in particular the isle one was unable to obtain cheese scones.

At least now I am able to enjoy a wee snack since my local greengrocer has these delivered fresh all the way from Callander.

So what is your favourite scone?

Autumn Mist

Frequent is its stealth

As early morn

And a chill

One feels.

Cobwebs visible

From afar

As they too

Become trapped

From within.

Hills once visible

Now cloaked

From all

Who see.

Autumn has arrived

As colours depict

Greys become evident

Once again.

Sometimes

Sometimes all we need is a glimmer of hope.

DSC02610

As a rain soaked land leads to flooding even on the trail.

DSC02511

Haunting of the Gallows

As daylight ends

Nightmares begin

Shadows appear

Sounds ear piercing

Echo from the hills.

DSC02566

The glow from a

Hand lamp

Guides the lonely

Along a mud soaked trail.

Bats zoom ever closer

As the beating of their wings

Is apparent as is their

Swift speed.

Darkness of autumn

Looms ever closer

As the clock strikes

Only 8pm

And already

Daylight ends.

If only the mind

Of horrors

Would remain

Of movies once seen

And not of visions

And sounds

As I walk this trail

The gallows

Suddenly appear

Along this blood soaked

Darkened lane

Beat of a heart

Ever faster

As the shadowy form

Hangs down

And swings in the breeze.

DSC02560

Alas be advised

On nights to come

Movies are best watched

Of summer nights

Or else you too

Shall encounter

The haunting of gallows

As you embark upon

The walk of the dead.
